Butler runs as a standalone binary on Windows, Linux or macOS, or in a Docker container. The
binaries need no installation.
Highlights
- Alerts when reload tasks fail or are stopped, sent to email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, New Relic,
Signl4, MQTT or webhooks. The script logs of failed reloads are saved, sorted by date.
- A cron-style scheduler for reload tasks, more flexible than the QMC scheduler.
- Start reload tasks from other systems via REST API or MQTT, selected by ID, tag or custom
property, and pass key-value parameters along.
- A key-value store for passing parameters between reload tasks, with optional time-to-live.
- Monitoring of Windows services, user licences (with automatic release of unused ones) and the
Sense server licence.
- Copy, move and delete files, and create directories, through Butler’s REST API.
